La mia storia… le mie passioni
Luciano Favarin, in arte “Lucianofa”, è uno pseudonimo nato dalla sintesi di tre concetti significativi: l’iniziale del suo cognome (FA), la nota musicale FA e la coniugazione del verbo FARE, inteso come invito all’azione, al creare, al “non dormire”.
Nasce nel mese di Agosto, sotto il segno del Leone, in un anno di grazia D.C. (Dopo Cristo), di età volutamente indefinibile, come tutti gli extraterrestri scesi in incognito sul pianeta Terra.
Fin da bambino eredita dal padre la passione per la musica, eccellente suonatore di armonica a bocca, e dalla madre l’amore per la letteratura e la scrittura.
Inizia lo studio della chitarra nella preadolescenza e successivamente approfondisce la chitarra jazz sotto la guida del Maestro Ivo Meletti, a Milano.
Dopo un’esperienza pluriennale come fondatore di un gruppo di musica sperimentale, nel pieno del periodo underground, accompagna come chitarrista Gian Pieretti, interprete dello storico successo Se sei bello ti tirano le pietre.
È proprio Pieretti a presentarlo al Maestro Alberto Nicorelli, Direttore Artistico della WEA di Segrate.
Dopo aver ascoltato le sue composizioni, Nicorelli ne apprezza l’originalità e lo incoraggia a proseguire, lasciandogli un consiglio destinato a rimanere impresso nella sua memoria:
“Luciano, hai del talento. Continua, scrivi, scrivi, scrivi…
Ma se vuoi fare questo mestiere ricordati sempre una cosa: non aspettarti mai un ringraziamento da un artista che porterai al successo.”
A vent’anni Luciano considerava impossibile una simile ingratitudine. La vita, molti anni dopo, gli avrebbe invece ricordato in modo indelebile quanto quelle parole fossero vere.
Dopo le prime esperienze come chitarrista professionista, fonda un nuovo gruppo con il quale si esibisce nelle più prestigiose discoteche e sale da ballo italiane, maturando una notevole esperienza come arrangiatore e musicista nei più diversi generi musicali.
Nel 1984 viene chiamato dal gruppo V’Trails per partecipare a una tournée nazionale sponsorizzata dalla Ferrero, dedicata al lancio dei prodotti Estathé e Fonzies. La manifestazione itinerante attraversa tutta l’Italia ed è presentata dalla showgirl Maria Teresa Ruta.
Parallelamente continua a perfezionare la propria attività di autore e compositore, collaborando con numerosi studi di registrazione professionali.
È legato da una profonda amicizia a Filippo Destrieri, storico tastierista e programmatore di Franco Battiato, collaboratore nelle produzioni di artisti come Alice, Milva, Giuni Russo, Juri Camisasca e molti altri.
È inoltre amico di Marco Guarnerio, produttore e arrangiatore che ha collaborato con Claudio Cecchetto, 883, Fiorello, Jovanotti, Paola & Chiara, Le Vibrazioni e numerosi altri artisti della scena musicale italiana.
Successivamente diventa produttore di Isabella Biffi, realizzando per lei diversi CD presso lo studio di Alberto Radius a Milano.
Per la casa discografica francese Carrere scrive e produce un disco per Lucio David, che raggiunge le Top Ten radiofoniche francesi.
Nel 1993 segue la nascita e la formazione di un gruppo composto da un rapper, un DJ e due ballerine.
In qualità di produttore, insieme al Maestro Roberto Arzuffi e con la collaborazione dell’immancabile Filippo Destrieri, realizza un progetto di quattordici brani. Il gruppo prende il nome di Prefisso.
Il progetto viene presentato alla Sony Music Entertainment, partecipando al Festival di Sanremo Giovani 1994 con il brano Avevo bisogno di te, del quale Luciano è autore e compositore, il gruppo conquista il secondo posto nella categoria, ottenendo così l’accesso al Festival di Sanremo 1995.
Sul palco dell’Ariston presenta il brano Chi più ne ha…, che vede ancora Luciano tra i coautori.
La loro performance colpisce profondamente il Maestro Sergio Bardotti, che decide di convocare il rapper del gruppo per interpretare quella che diventerà una delle sigle rap più celebri del Festival: “Perché Sanremo è Sanremo”.
Segue una tournée in Sicilia e Calabria, che ottiene un notevole successo di pubblico, confermando il motto del gruppo:
“Movimento & Divertimento”.
Nello stesso periodo, insieme a Mara Maionchi e Alberto Salerno, sempre per Sony Music, accompagna al Festival di Sanremo l’interprete Anita, protagonista di una straordinaria interpretazione del celebre brano Almeno tu nell’universo.
Successivamente conosce Tonino Ansoldi, storico imprenditore discografico e proprietario della RI-FI Records, etichetta che ha prodotto artisti del calibro di Mina, Fausto Leali e Iva Zanicchi, quest’ultima poi divenuta moglie dello stesso Ansoldi e vincitrice di ben tre Festival di Sanremo.
Da quell’incontro nasce una nuova importante collaborazione con un artista di madrelingua spagnola: Giorgio.
Per lui realizza il singolo Como Te Deseo, arrangiato dal Maestro Vladi Tosetto, autore di Come Saprei di Giorgia e collaboratore di numerosi successi di Eros Ramazzotti.
Il brano viene presentato al prestigioso Festival Internacional de Viña del Mar, in Cile, dove Luciano dirige l’orchestra davanti a oltre 45.000 spettatori presenti e milioni di telespettatori collegati in mondovisione.
Supera tutte e cinque le serate eliminatorie e conquista il quarto posto nella finale internazionale.
Il brano diventa inoltre la sigla di un programma televisivo giovanile trasmesso su Canal 13, una delle principali emittenti cilene.
Tra un festival e l’altro incontra un altro artista grazie al compositore e arrangiatore Detto Mariano, storico collaboratore di Lucio Battisti e autore di numerose colonne sonore cinematografiche.
L’artista è Zack Ferguson, originario dell’isola caraibica di Santa Lucia, che negli anni Ottanta aveva già ottenuto un notevole successo con il brano Skate Board Dancin’ e aveva preso parte come attore a diverse produzioni RAI accanto a Tullio Solenghi, Paolo Ferrari e Carla Romanelli.
Insieme preparano alcuni brani dell’album Pure Energy e attraversano l’oceano per realizzarne il master a Chicago.
Segue una tournée italiana nella quale Luciano ricopre il ruolo di Art Director e coordinatore della band che accompagna dal vivo Zack Ferguson.
Un'altra collaborazione preziosa si é rivelata quella con il Mº Piero Milanesi.
Un’altra importante parentesi della sua carriera riguarda il mondo della Dance.
Collabora come autore e compositore a numerose produzioni della Many Records insieme a David Zambelli, produttore di artisti quali P. Lion, Scotch, Finzy Kontini e del celebre successo Happy Children.
Realizza inoltre il singolo di Marjory e collabora con Ala Bianca, Asia Records e SAIFAM, producendo brani destinati principalmente al mercato giapponese.
Nel corso degli anni apre un proprio studio di registrazione, concepito non per produzioni conto terzi, ma esclusivamente per sviluppare i propri progetti artistici.
Lo studio viene costantemente aggiornato con apparecchiature professionali di alto livello, fino alla sospensione dell’attività durante il periodo della pandemia.
Oggi, dopo molti anni, Luciano ha ritrovato Zack Ferguson. Insieme hanno deciso di ripubblicare le produzioni realizzate in passato e di tornare a collaborare con il talentuoso tastierista Ugo Arnoldo.

Luciano Favarin, aka "Lucianofa," is a pseudonym born from the synthesis of three significant concepts: the initial of his surname (FA), the musical note FA, and the conjugation of the verb FARE (to do), understood as a call to action, to create, to "not sleep."
He was born in August, under the sign of Leo, in a year of grace AD (AD), of a deliberately indefinable age, like all extraterrestrials who landed incognito on planet Earth.
From childhood, he inherited a passion for music from his father, an excellent harmonica player, and a love of literature and writing from his mother.
He began studying guitar in his pre-adolescence and later studied jazz guitar under the guidance of Maestro Ivo Meletti in Milan.
After several years as the founder of an experimental music group, at the height of the underground era, he joined Gian Pieretti, the guitarist behind the historic hit "Se sei bello ti tirano le pietre" (If You're Beautiful, They Throw Stones at You).
It was Pieretti who introduced him to Maestro Alberto Nicorelli, Artistic Director of WEA in Segrate.
After listening to his compositions, Nicorelli appreciated their originality and encouraged him to continue, leaving him with a piece of advice that would remain etched in his memory:
"Luciano, you have talent. Keep going, write, write, write…
But if you want to do this job, always remember one thing: never expect thanks from an artist you'll lead to success."
At twenty, Luciano considered such ingratitude impossible. Life, many years later, would instead indelibly remind him of the truth of those words.
After his initial experiences as a professional guitarist, he founded a new group with which he performed at Italy's most prestigious nightclubs and dance halls, gaining considerable experience as an arranger and musician in a wide variety of musical genres.
In 1984, he was invited by the group V'Trails to participate in a national tour sponsored by Ferrero, dedicated to the launch of the Estathé and Fonzies products. The traveling event traveled throughout Italy and was hosted by showgirl Maria Teresa Ruta.
At the same time, he continued to hone his craft as a writer and composer, collaborating with numerous professional recording studios.
He has a deep friendship with Filippo Destrieri, Franco Battiato's longtime keyboardist and programmer, who has collaborated on the productions of artists such as Alice, Milva, Giuni Russo, Juri Camisasca, and many others.
He is also a friend of Marco Guarnerio, a producer and arranger who has collaborated with Claudio Cecchetto, 883, Fiorello, Jovanotti, Paola & Chiara, Le Vibrazioni, and numerous other artists on the Italian music scene.
He later became Isabella Biffi's producer, producing several CDs for her at Alberto Radius's studio in Milan.
For the French record label Carrere, he wrote and produced an album for Lucio David, which reached the Top Ten on French radio.
In 1993, he oversaw the creation and formation of a group consisting of a rapper, a DJ, and two dancers.
As a producer, together with Maestro Roberto Arzuffi and with the collaboration of the ever-present Filippo Destrieri, he created a fourteen-song project. The group took the name Prefisso.
The project was presented to Sony Music Entertainment, participating in the 1994 Sanremo Giovani Festival with the song "Avevo bisogno di te," for which Luciano wrote and composed, the group took second place in their category, thus gaining access to the 1995 Sanremo Music Festival.
On the Ariston stage, they performed the song "Chi più ne ha…," which Luciano once again co-wrote.
Their performance deeply impressed Maestro Sergio Bardotti, who decided to call upon the group's rapper to perform what would become one of the Festival's most famous rap themes: "Perché Sanremo è Sanremo."
A tour of Sicily and Calabria followed, achieving considerable success with audiences, confirming the group's motto:
"Movement & Fun."
During the same period, together with Mara Maionchi and Alberto Salerno, again for Sony Music, he accompanied singer Anita to the Sanremo Music Festival, where she performed an extraordinary rendition of the famous song "At Least You in the Universe."
She later met Tonino Ansoldi, a historic record entrepreneur and owner of RI-FI Records, a label that has produced artists such as Mina, Fausto Leali, and Iva Zanicchi, the latter of whom later became Ansoldi's wife and winner of three Sanremo Music Festivals.
From that meeting, a new and important collaboration was born with a native Spanish-speaking artist: Giorgio.
For him, she created the single "Como Te Deseo," arranged by Maestro Vladi Tosetto, author of Giorgia's "Come Saprei" and collaborator on numerous Eros Ramazzotti hits.
The song was performed at the prestigious Viña del Mar International Festival in Chile, where Luciano conducted the orchestra before over 45,000 spectators and millions of viewers worldwide.
He passed all five preliminary rounds and took fourth place in the international final.
The song also became the theme song for a youth television program broadcast on Canal 13, one of Chile's leading broadcasters.
Between festivals, he met another artist thanks to composer and arranger Detto Mariano, a longtime collaborator of Lucio Battisti and the author of numerous film soundtracks.
The artist is Zack Ferguson, originally from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, who had already achieved considerable success in the 1980s with the song "Skate Board Dancin'" and had appeared as an actor in several RAI productions alongside Tullio Solenghi, Paolo Ferrari, and Carla Romanelli.
Together, they prepared some tracks for the album Pure Energy and crossed the ocean to master it in Chicago.
An Italian tour followed, during which Luciano served as Art Director and coordinator of the band that accompanied Zack Ferguson live.
Another valuable collaboration proved to be the one with Mº Piero Milanesi.
Another important moment in his career was in the world of dance music.
He collaborated as a writer and composer on numerous productions for Many Records with David Zambelli, producer of artists such as P. Lion, Scotch, Finzy Kontini, and the famous hit "Happy Children."
He also wrote the single "Marjory" and collaborated with Ala Bianca, Asia Records, and SAIFAM, producing tracks primarily for the Japanese market.
Over the years, he opened his own recording studio, designed not for third-party productions, but exclusively for developing his own artistic projects.
The studio was constantly updated with high-end professional equipment, until its closure during the pandemic.
Today, after many years, Luciano has reunited with Zack Ferguson. Together, they decided to re-release their past productions and collaborate again with the talented keyboardist Ugo Arnoldo.
And who knows…
Because, as often happens in music and in life…
